Terms of service

The agreement between a workshop and RattleGun, in plain English.

Last updated 4 November 2026.

Agreement

RattleGun is provided by DoubleKlick. Using the service means the workshop accepts these terms. A pilot is governed by the written pilot terms the workshop is sent, and where those differ from this page, the pilot terms apply.

The service

RattleGun records customers, vehicles, jobs, parts, invoices, inspections, appointments and customer messages. Features that connect to a third party, such as a carrier, a payment provider or an accounting system, work only when the workshop has an account with that provider and has connected it.

The workshop's responsibilities

  • Keep its users' access accurate, and tell us when someone should no longer have access.
  • Enter records accurately. Prices, stock and tax figures come from what the workshop enters or connects.
  • Only message people who have consented to hear from the workshop, and honour opt-outs. Electronic marketing must comply with the Spam Act 2003.
  • Use the service lawfully and not to store or transmit material it has no right to.

The workshop's data

The workshop owns its records and its customers' information. It gives us permission to host, process and back up that data to run the service, and to send messages it asks us to send. The workshop can export its data at any time from the product.

Fees

Fees are the amounts in the written quote for the workshop, invoiced monthly in advance, plus GST. Message and payment provider charges are the workshop's own arrangements with those providers unless the quote says otherwise.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and to give notice of planned maintenance. During a pilot, features change quickly and some are incomplete; we will say so rather than describe them as finished. We may change a feature where it improves the product or is required for security or law.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes a guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law guarantees. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for a claim is limited to the fees paid for the service in the three months before the claim.

Ending the agreement

Either side may end the agreement with 30 days written notice. On ending, the workshop can export its data, and we delete it as described in the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
